Abu Dhabi: President Bola Tinubu has asserted that Africa possesses the necessary resources to develop itself and emphasized the importance of enhancing intra-African trade for the benefit of the continent’s people. He made these remarks on his official X account, following his discussions with Rwandan President Paul Kagame on the eve of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025).
According to News Agency of Nigeria, President Tinubu departed Abuja on January 11 to attend the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, an event that aims to bring together global leaders to foster sustainable development and promote socioeconomic progress. Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, extended the invitation to President Tinubu to participate in the Summit, scheduled from January 12 to 18 in the Emirate.
The Summit titled ‘The Nexus of Next; Supercharging Sustainable Progress’ seeks to engage policymakers, business leaders, and civil society in discussions on accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy. The event provides a platform for exploring strategies to usher in a new era of prosperity and sustainable development for all.
