Post: Alleged Assault: Court Adjourns Odumodublvck’s Trial Until Nov. 26

Abuja: The FCT High Court, Life Camp, Abuja has adjourned the trial of a Nigerian rapper, Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as ‘Odumodublvck’, in a case of assault and battery, until Nov. 26. The claimant, a Nigerian musician named Levi Ogbogiri, who is popularly known as ‘Kraziecent’, has filed a lawsuit against Odumodublvck for allegedly assaulting and battering him at a public event on Dec. 16, 2024.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Justice J.O.E. Adeyemi-Ajayi fixed the new date after the claimant’s counsel, Uchenna Ojembe, informed the court that the defendant had been served with all necessary documents but had yet to reply. Ojembe stated, “The hearing may not commence today because the defendant’s counsel, Sheriff Bello, had not responded, we, however, pray to the court for a date.”

In response, Bello requested the court to grant him a date to prepare adequately for the case, expressing the need to organize his defense properly.

NAN reports that Kraziecent, in a civil suit, alleged that while he was peacefully taking pictures and videos of himself at an event without provocation, Odumodublvck violently assaulted him on Dec. 16, 2024. Kraziecent claimed that the defendant’s actions amounted to assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress on him and his property, particularly his iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The claimant is seeking an order directing the defendant to cover his medical expenses incurred due to the battery and emotional distress. Additionally, Kraziecent is demanding compensation for the cost of his damaged iPhone 15 Pro Max, public humiliation, reputational harm, and a public apology. He also wants the court to order the defendant to publish the apology on his social media platforms, including Facebook, X handle (Twitter), Instagram, and in at least two national newspapers.
