ABUJA – Mr. Christopher Maikalangu, the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), began the distribution of Federal Government-approved palliatives to residents of the area council on Sunday. The palliatives aim to mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
According to a new release by News Agency of Nigeria, the Chairman expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister for facilitating the distribution of the palliatives, emphasizing transparency and equality in the process. Residents were invited from all 12 political wards of the council without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.
Mr. Maikalangu called for additional contributions from philanthropists, stating that the government alone could not meet all the needs of the people. Among the items distributed were rice, maize, and vegetable oil. A beneficiary, Mr. John Musa, expressed his gratitude for the provisions, stating that the food items would significantly benefit the recipients.
