Damaturu: Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has extended financial support to 127 law graduates from the state, providing them with tuition fees and laptops as they embark on their studies at the Nigeria Law School. Each student received N475,000 for tuition and a laptop to facilitate their education.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the governor expressed satisfaction in the state’s ongoing commitment to education. He highlighted that over 38,000 students have benefited from the state scholarship scheme during his administration, which has consistently supported education both domestically and internationally.
The initiative marks the fourth consecutive year that Buni’s administration has sponsored law graduates to the Nigeria Law School. Additionally, Buni mentioned that 140 out of 189 medical and allied graduates from Indian universities have been employed under the state’s sponsorship, with plans to absorb the remaining 49 soon.
Buni emphasized his administration’s dedication to education, pledging continued support for professional certifications. He assured that the state would continue to sponsor law graduates to qualify as lawyers, accountants to earn credentials from ANAN or ICAN, and administrators at ASCON.
The governor urged the beneficiaries to adhere to the institution’s rules and maintain the state’s positive image during their tenure at the Law School, encouraging them to be exemplary representatives of Yobe.
