Dolpa: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a chargesheet against eight individuals, including the former Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality, at the special court today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the CIAA has brought charges against the then Acting Chief Administrative Officer, Lal Prasad Pokharel, and several other officials, including Engineer Karna Bahadur Karki, Administrative Officer Hirachandra Dharala, Education Officer Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Senior Accounts Assistant Rupchandra Budha, and MIS Operator Harichandra Bista. These charges pertain to alleged irregularities in the road upgrading project from Khadang to Lha in Ward No. 5 of the municipality during the fiscal year 2078/79.
The chargesheet also lists Shishir Kumar Gurung, a member of the bid evaluation committee, and the project’s engineer from Divyanirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd. Dunai Dolpa, alongside Bhimraj Neupane of the construction company, as defendants. The CIAA has demanded a fine of Rs. 5,589,063 from the accused under Section 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS.
