COAS Inaugurates New Projects at Nigerian Army’s 3 Division


Rukuba: Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), on Tuesday inaugurated newly constructed and renovated projects at the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the projects consist of blocks of offices and residential accommodations for officers and soldiers. Oluyede emphasized that these initiatives aim to enhance the welfare and well-being of soldiers in the division. He stated, “These projects are part of our commitment to improving the welfare and wellbeing of our troops and their families.” The COAS assured the personnel that efforts would continue within available resources to further improve their welfare.



The army chief also addressed the issue of inadequate infrastructure in schools within the cantonment. Oluyede expressed dissatisfaction with the current conditions and pledged to enhance educational facilities to improve teaching and learning. He emphasized the importance of education, saying, “I’m not happy with the condition of infrastructure in primary and secondary schools in our barracks. I have challenged the education corps so that we can tackle these challenges. I want to see my soldiers produce doctors, lawyers, and engineers.”
