Post: COAS Urges Troops to Maintain Professionalism in North-West Operations


Abuja: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has called on troops involved in Operation FANSAN YAMMA to maintain their resolve and professionalism as they work to restore peace in the North-West region. Shaibu delivered this message during his inaugural operational visit to the operation’s Area of Responsibility in Zamfara.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the statement was released by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, in Abuja. The COAS praised the troops for their resilience and sacrifices amidst the complex security landscape in the region. He assured the personnel that the army is actively addressing operational gaps and welfare concerns raised by those on the frontlines.



Shaibu emphasized his commitment to resolving issues affecting both land and air components of the operation, in collaboration with other services. He stated that the Nigerian Army is dedicated to enhancing troops’ motivation, equipment, and overall support systems to improve operational effectiveness. He urged the personnel to maintain professional conduct and continue to build the confidence of citizens relying on them for protection.



Shaibu acknowledged the transitory nature of the challenges faced by the troops and encouraged them to remain determined and professional in their duties. He also recognized the effective synergy among the services in the ongoing operations and reiterated the military leadership’s commitment to enhancing working conditions for personnel deployed across the theatre.
