Defence Ministry Expresses Condolences Over Death of Chief of Army Staff.


Abuja: The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, along with Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Permanent Secretary Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, and other staff members of the Ministry of Defence, have expressed their condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, the Armed Forces, and the family of Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja following his passing.

According to Voice of Nigeria, the Ministry’s statement described the death as a significant loss to his family, the Army, and the nation. The statement noted the commendable working relationship they had with the late Chief of Army Staff, highlighting his spirit of camaraderie and cooperation in fulfilling their mandate.

The Ministry further acknowledged Lieutenant General Lagbaja’s substantial contributions to internal security operations across Nigeria and his high level of professionalism.
