Elegushi Foundation Donates N200m to Eti-Osa Students and SMEs

Lagos: The Oba Saheed Elegushi Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has announced the donation of N200 million to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and students in the Eti-Osa area of Lagos State. The initiative was disclosed in a statement by Temitope Oyefeso, Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Oba Saheed Elegushi, the traditional ruler of Ikateland.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the donation coincides with the 15th Anniversary of Oba Saheed Elegushi’s reign, which has been marked by growth and prosperity within the community. The traditional ruler expressed his ongoing commitment to sustainable development and community upliftment, emphasizing the importance of giving back to society. He reiterated his belief in the potential of youths and entrepreneurs, stating that the initiative is a testament to this belief and aims to build a brighter future for the community.

Oyefeso highlighted that the initiative is designed to provide financial assistance and resources to local entrepreneurs and students, aiming to stimulate economic growth and enhance educational opportunities in the region. The funds will be distributed through various programmes focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.

The celebration of the 15th anniversary will include a public presentation of a book on the history of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, the conferment of titles on eminent Nigerians, a cultural festival, and an anniversary banquet, scheduled to take place from April 18 to April 27. The traditional ruler was installed as the 21st Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom on April 27, 2010.
