Lagos: Some experts and professionals have called for massive investment in renewable energy, efficient supply chains, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance businesses and catalyze Nigeria’s economy. They spoke at the ST. RACHEAL’s People’s Consulting Ltd, 2025 Talent Development and Retention Summit Series 2, titled ‘Economic Opportunities’, on Saturday in Lagos.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, a Business Analyst, Mr. Oluwadara Adeosun, emphasized the vast resources Nigeria possesses, which should be harnessed for economic prosperity and improved quality of life. He highlighted the critical role of energy in business development, advocating for substantial investment in renewable energy as a potential game changer for the country. Adeosun stressed the importance of public and private sector collaboration in developing renewable energy to benefit various sectors, including health and education.
Dr. Solomon Aigbavboa, a Supply Chain Expert, described supply chain management as vital to business success and sustainability. Aigbavboa pointed out the necessity for effective product flows to rebuild the economy, addressing challenges such as sub-optimal production, inefficient distribution, and high transportation costs. He emphasized the need for resilient supply chain management to absorb disruptions and ensure business agility, scalability, and market expansion.
Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams, Head of Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana, spoke on AI’s transformative power in unlocking economic growth. She advocated for the adoption of AI across key sectors like agriculture, finance, and education to compete globally, citing AI’s potential to drive efficiency, create jobs, and enhance human creativity. Williams urged for educational reforms to embed AI learning and encouraged business leaders and policymakers to foster an enabling environment for AI development.
The summit also featured insights from other speakers, including Mr. Bunmi Adimula, Mrs. Ngozi Nwabueze, and Mr. Orji Uka, who spoke on business, economy, and health. Mr. Akinjide Adeosun, Lead Visioner and Chairman of ST. RACHEAL’S PHARMA, emphasized the event’s goal to unite diverse backgrounds to effect societal change, urging Nigerian leadership to prioritize investment in renewable energy, particularly solar power, to drive business growth.
