Oru west: The Chairman of Oru West Local Government Area in Imo State, Mr. Ikenna Adikibe, unveiled a series of infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing local development and improving the wellbeing of residents. The initiatives were introduced as part of the administration’s efforts to boost rural growth.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the newly unveiled projects include a rehabilitated National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge, a new 33kVA transformer, and modern bus stops. These developments were inaugurated in the communities of Mgbidi and Ibiasoegbe, aligning with the 3R agenda-Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery-of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration. Mr. Adikibe expressed gratitude to the governor for his continuous support in promoting development across the state.
The chairman emphasized that the renovation of the NYSC lodge serves as both recognition of the corps members’ contributions to the area’s development and a commitment to enhancing their welfare and security. He highlighted that this initiative is part of his administration’s drive to create a conducive environment for young Nigerians serving their nation.
Further, Mr. Adikibe stated that the commissioning of the 33kVA transformer is expected to alleviate longstanding power supply issues faced by residents, thereby supporting small business growth and improving community life. He believes these projects will strengthen the Local Government’s capability to attract and accommodate human resources, contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of local communities.
He pledged continued dedication to people-focused projects and urged the community to protect all amenities from vandalism.
