For the second straight day, gains persisted on the Nigerian equities market on Tuesday as market capitalisation rose by N272 billion to close at N55,437 trillion as against N55,165 trillion on the first trading day of the week.
In like manner, the benchmark all-share index rose by 0.49 percent to close at 96,510.16 basis points being 472.85 points higher than Monday’s 96,037.28 points just as the market sentiment also maintained the positive momentum with 49 gainers relative to 14 losers at the end of the day’s trading.
The top three gainers for the day were Total Nigeria, Julius Berger Nigeria and John Holt ,all with 10 percent price appreciation to close at N619.30k, N143 and N3.08k per share respectively.
On the other hand, University Press dropped by 9.58 percent to close at N2.17k followed by Cutix with 6.25 percent loss and a closing price of N3.00 then Vitafoam came next with 5.17 percent loss to close at N18.35k.

ded in 8,493 deals.
