NAN Quarterly Walk/Jogging Event Highlights Exercise’s Role in Health and Productivity

Abuja: The Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, highlighted the critical role of exercise in promoting healthy living and boosting staff productivity during the second edition of the NAN Quarterly Walk/Jogging Exercise in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ali addressed the agency’s staff, emphasizing that physical activities can significantly enhance and impact productivity. The exercise commenced from the agency’s headquarters, proceeding to the Federal Secretariat, and then returning, with participation from partners like the China General Chamber of Commerce, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), CWAY Nigeria, Abuja Manufacturing Co. Ltd, and Alfa Designs.

In his remarks at the event’s conclusion, Ali stated that the exercise provided an opportunity for staff bonding, stress relief, and contributing to nation-building. He underscored that physical activity is essential for mental health and wellness, particularly due to the high-pressure nature of newsroom work, and highlighted the agency’s commitment to a culture of wellness and fitness, including an equipped gym available to staff weekly.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, who also participated in the walk, noted the importance of the partnership between the organizations for improving road traffic compliance. He remarked on the dual purpose of the event: enhancing the stamina and ability of FRSC personnel to enforce traffic rules and using NAN’s platform to educate the public on road traffic compliance.

Other partners present at the event included officials from Alfa Designs and the Africa Infrastructure, Climate Change and Investment Summit (AICIS), who expressed their intention to continue collaborating with NAN.
