The National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Aisha Ibrahim has made a strong appeal to the newly elected leadership of the Association Kano State Chapter, urging them to uphold the trust placed in them and work diligently to achieve the objectives.
During the inauguration ceremony of the new executive members, led by Sayyada Bahijja Kabara, Hajia Aisha emphasized the importance of unity among members.
She encouraged the executives to focus on promoting development in Kano State and the country at large.
The event, held at the NUJ Press Centre, featured the commissioning of a new NAWOJ Secretariat by Hajia Ibrahim, donated by the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The newly commissioned office was formally handed over to the women journalists.
Hajia Aisha Ibrahim urged the NAWOJ leaders to make efficient use of the new facility.
She also called on the state government and stakeholders to support the new team in achieving their set objectives

In her speech, the National Secretary of NAWOJ, Comrade Wasila Ladan, described the new executive committee as a turning point for journalism and humanitarian efforts in Kano State.
She expressed optimism that the new leadership would make a significant impact.
Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Chairman of the NUJ Kano State Council, echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence in Sayyada Bahijja Kabara’s strong track record in journalism and pledging the NUJ’s full cooperation with NAWOJ under her leadership.
In her acceptance speech, Sayyada Bahijja Kabara promised to provide inclusive leadership and announced plans for regular training and capacity-building programmes for female journalists in the state.
The inauguration, attended by top government officials, business leaders, and journalists, was marked by jubilation as key figures present included the Executive Governor of Kano State, represented by the Commissioner of Information, Comrade Baba Dantiye, and the Chairman of the Kano State Anti-Cor
ruption Commission, Barrister Muhuyi Danbatta, as well as the Zonal Secretary of NUJ Zone, Comrade Abdulrazak Bello Kaura.
The event concluded with a dinner in honor of NAWOJ National Secretary, Comrade Wasila Ladan, who hails from Kano, the newly inaugurated executive members, and other outstanding personalities for their contributions to journalism and community service.
