Post: NC To Participate In Upcoming 2026 Election: Leader Singh

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has announced that the party will participate in the election scheduled for March 5, 2026, dismissing the need for a special general convention at this time. Speaking at a program organized at Shobha Bhagawati to commemorate the 111th birth anniversary of the late NC leader Ganesh Man Singh, he affirmed the party’s commitment to democratic norms and systems.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Singh emphasized that the Nepali Congress’s priority is to engage with the electorate and gain their trust through the upcoming elections, viewing this approach as a means to address the country’s ongoing crisis. He noted that the recent demands within the party for a special general convention hold little significance with the regular party convention on the horizon.

Singh stated that the party is currently engaged in internal preparations to meet the demands arising from the Gen Z movement. He highlighted the importance of integrating the ideas, energy, and aspirations of the new generation into the NC’s framework, reflecting a progressive approach within the party.

The event saw participation from NC leaders, cadres, and local residents who gathered to honor the late leader by garlanding his statue, indicating the deep respect and legacy associated with Ganesh Man Singh.
