No Recent Increase in price of Petrol – NNPCL

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL has denied any further increases in the pump price of petrol in Nigeria from N1,030. 00 to N1,060.00 as speculated.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL Olufemi Soneye, in his response to the issue said he is not aware of any fresh Premium Motor Spirit pump price increase across its retail outlets.

Soneye’s comment comes amid speculation that NNPCL had increased fuel pump from N1,030.00 per litre to N1,060. 00 in Abuja.

Mr. Soneye said, ‘there is no increase in gasoline price that I am aware of.’.

Similarly, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Chinedu Ukadike, said NNPCL’s ex-depot price has not changed.

‘For independent marketers, we have not experienced a fresh price hike as I am speaking with you. NNPCL still sells to us at the same price.

‘For Port Harcourt, it is N1,040 per litre; Abuja and Lagos are around N990 per litre,’ he said.

Earlier, the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dango
te, said petroleum marketers are ignoring its refinery’s 500 million litres of fuel.

Recall that on 9 October 2024, NNPCL had increased its petrol price to N1030 per litre.
