Post: NYSC DG Urges Corps Members ToFoster National Integration

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has charged Corps Members to utilize their service year for selfless contributions, steadfast commitment and promotion of national unity.

While addressing Corps Members at the Adamawa State Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area, North-East Nigeria, General Ahmed emphasized the importance of inter-tribal relationships in fostering national cohesion.

He urged them to create lasting bonds among themselves as these relationships will yield cherished memories in the future.

General Ahmed reiterated that NYSC’s founding principles prioritize national unity and integration. He encouraged Corps Members to uphold these ideals, striving for excellence in their respective postings and contributing meaningfully to national development.

‘As soon as you end your Orientation Course, settle down in your place of primary assignments.

‘In NYSC, we have collaborated with the security agencies to ensure that a
ll Corps Members are safe, but you must also ensure your safety,’ he said.

In his camp situation report to the Director General, the Adamawa State Coordinator, Sam Ateli stated that 1,334 Corps Members, made up of 781 males and 563 females were registered in the camp.

He added that the Corps Members are well-behaved and have been participating in all camp activities.

The Coordinator attributed the success of the Orientation Exercise so far, to the application of emotional intelligence by all camp officials.
