Last evening, the SLHC hosted an exclusive networking reception for the distinguished Chairman and Secretary General of the General Legal Council of Sierra Leone (GLC-SL), Sulaiman Banja Tejan-Sie Esq. and Victor I. Lansana Esq.
The GLC is a statutory body with the mandate to issue and renew licences to legal practitioners in Sierra Leone and to regulate their conduct pursuant to the Legal Practitioners Act, 2006.
Held within the SLHC chancery, this special event brought together a select group of barristers, solicitors, and associated legal professionals, as well as integral figures from other sectors.
Mr. Tejan-Sie and Mr. Lansana are currently in London for a study tour, focusing on an extensive examination of the pathways required to fully implement key provisions of the GLC’s legislation. Their visit is aimed at advancing the Sierra Leonean legal profession and enhancing appropriate support for its practitioners.
The High Commissioner, H.E. Dr. Morie Manyeh, opened the reception following a brief in
troduction by Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King Odigboh. High Commissioner Manyeh extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries present, wishing everyone an enjoyable and productive networking experience. Mr. Tejan-Sie then explained the purpose of the GLC’s visit to the U.K. and expressed his team’s desire to connect with those who could assist in achieving their stated goals.
Last night’s event proved to be an enriching experience, fostering valuable connections in a setting filled with insightful minds and expansive expertise.
