Abuja: President Bola Tinubu on Thursday swore in two new ministers, Dr. Bernard Doro from Plateau and Dr. Kingsley Udeh (SAN) from Enugu State. The brief swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, just before the start of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, with all cabinet members in attendance. Tinubu called on the newly appointed ministers to utilize their experience effectively in fulfilling their duties, highlighting the need for efficiency and service delivery.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Doro is a pharmacist and lawyer who replaces Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. Yilwatda now holds the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Meanwhile, Dr. Udeh takes over the role left vacant by the resignation of the former Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, Uche Nnaji, who stepped down recently amidst controversies over his academic credentials.
Before his ministerial appointment, Udeh served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State. Both newly appointed ministers were thoroughly screened and approved by the Senate prior to their swearing-in.
