Tinubu Commends Nigerian Troops as Defenders of the Nation


Katsina: President Bola Tinubu on Friday praised Nigerian soldiers, describing them as brave and gallant defenders of the nation during his official visit to the frontline troops in Katsina State. He expressed his admiration for their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to the country’s peace and security.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, President Tinubu addressed the troops, acknowledging their role as the shield of Nigeria and highlighting their efforts in battling terrorism and securing communities as victories for justice and freedom. He emphasized that their fight in Katsina State and across the country was not merely a territorial battle but a struggle for the soul of the nation.



Tinubu’s speech recognized the resilience of the troops and underscored the sacrifices they make by leaving their families and comforts behind to serve the nation. He saluted their patriotism, describing them as the silent guardians of Nigeria’s democracy. The president assured the soldiers that he was aware of the challenges they faced and pledged to equip them with advanced resources and support.



He emphasized the importance of the troops’ welfare, committing to ensure their families’ safety, prompt payment of allowances, guaranteed healthcare, and dignity. Tinubu detailed initiatives like housing programs, family support systems, insurance coverage, and improved remuneration being implemented to support the military personnel.
