Tito Jackson, American guitarist, Jackson 5 member dies at 70


American guitarist and singer Tito Jackson, a founding member of the iconic Jackson 5 and the older brother of pop legends Michael and Janet Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70, his sons announced late Sunday.

‘With heavy hearts, we share the news that our beloved father, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, has passed away,’ his sons Taj, Taryll, and TJ-who make up the music group 3T-wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of them with their father.

As stated on his website, Tito had been performing and touring with his own blues and funk band since 2003.

In 2016, Tito became the final Jackson sibling to achieve a solo Billboard hit with the single ‘Get It Baby,’ which was followed by his debut solo album, Tito Time.

His second album-and first blues project-Under Your Spell was released in 2021, featuring special guest appearances from artists like George Benson, Bobby Rush, and Stevie Wonder.

Tito is survived by his three sons. His former wife, Dolores, who was their mother, passed away in 1
994.
