2019 Elections: Women group mobilises votes for Buhari/Osinbajo

A Women group under the aegis of Noble Women Movement for Buhari/Osinbajo, NWM4BO, has called on eligible voters in Nigeria to come out and vote massively for the candidates of All Progressives Congress, APC, in this week Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The group said the call has become necessary in view of the numerous achievements recorded in infrastructural development across the country by the President Muhammad Buhari/ Osinbajo led government.

In a World Press Conference in Abuja, jointly addressed by the National President, Mrs. Mfawa Usani and National Director of Publicity for the movement, Dr. Rachael Ahmadu, the group said the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will consolidate the gains achieved in the past three years.

Buhari’s Credibility

Dr Ahmadu who is also a member of Strategic Communication Committee of Buhari Campaign Organisation told noted that the blockage of looted funds by the Buhari’s administration has provoked many corrupt politicians who are bent to come back to power through the backdoors.

She said that, it is very clear to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, that President Muhammadu Buhari will win the February 16 presidential election because his credibility is not in doubt. It is also obvious that the numerous infrastructural developments across the length and breadth of Nigeria will earn him massive votes among spectrum of the society.

More importantly, the traders’ money which ordinarily could have been diverted and shared among the elites was put to good use. This explains why the elites are angry and want to come back to power. This is the first time Nigerians are having election without the use of public funds with impunity, Dr Ahmadu added.

Fake News

While fielding questions from journalists on a purported audio clip of a supposed nurse of President Muhammadu Buhari telling voters that the president is sick and cannot govern for another four years, Ahmadu described the audio clip as one of carefully choreographed fake news designed to scare voters from voting for Buhari.

She further explained that the Director, Strategic Communications, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Festus Keyamo has already reacted to a series of carefully choreographed fake news to be dished out to the gullible public before the elections.

According to her, Nigerians should expect more of such fake news, noting that the present health condition of President Muhammadu Buhari is far better than his health condition in 2015.

According to her, these fake news would consist of doctored videos and audio clips and fake news reports from fake news sites. But I call on Nigerians to ignore such fake news and vote for the re-election of Buhari and Osinbajo joint ticket.
