2019 Polls: AMAC to curtail bridge of law and order

Authority of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory has pledged to collaborate with relevant security agencies in the FCT to curtail the activities of political thugs before, during and after the general election.

The pledge was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to AMAC Chairman, Mr Jibreel Muhammad Babangoshi in Abuja, Nigeria.

Babangoshi noted that the AMAC Chairman, Alh Abdullahi Adamu Candido while on an interactive session with some Security Agencies’ fact findings meeting on how to ensure a free, fair and Credible Elections in FCT expressed his commitment towards providing a level playing ground for all actors during the exercise.

He added that the Chairman also vowed to take necessary action against politicians found disrespecting or trying to bring down the office of any traditional rulers in the Council.

Our Royal Fathers are the custodians of our heritage, cultures, norms and Values and no politician will be allowed to disgrace them or drag them to Politics. They are our fathers and must be respected, the statement added.

Gone were the days of 16years of PDP where Traditional rulers will be issued threat to their throne of which they inherited by a politician who is seeking for a 4-8 year term, Babangoshi said.

He assured the traditional rulers in the territory that such threat will no longer be tolerated under the present Leadership in the FCT.
