ABS digital Station, ready in 6 weeks

By John Ndu : All is finalized for the commencement of a world class digital Radio and Television stations in Anambra State.

The digital broadcasting is set to commence in Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) in 6 weeks time.

Speaking while inspecting the State of Art edifice that would house the digital equipment at the ABS premises, Awka, Governor Willie Obiano said the station would compete with international radio and television broadcasting outfits across the world, with highly digitized equipment that would enhance speed transmission.

The Governor disclosed that the state government had fully paid for the equipment and had taken delivery of 60% of the equipment as the remaining ones would soon be delivered for proper installation.

Chief Obiano while urging the staff to be dedicated and proactive noted that the station would partner various international broadcasting outfits for efficient delivery of programmes.

The Site Engineer of Confax Company, Mohammed Merhi stressed that the project would have three F. M stations and two Television Studios that would function simultaneously with digital outputs that would outshine other broadcasting outfits.

Mr. Merhi confirmed the commencement of the station in 6 weeks time as the Enugu Ukwu transmission center would also be ready in 3 weeks time.

He commended Governor Obiano for his partnership with the company, saying they would deliver as expected.

In their separate reactions, one of the Board Members and the Traditional Ruler of Nteje, HRH, Igwe Rowland Odegbo and the Traditional Ruler of Awka, HRH Igwe Gibson Nwosu expressed gratitude to the governor for lifting the status of the state to international standards, saying the digital studios would project the state to limelight.
