Awka-Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke says an upcoming accreditation exercise of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam will be hitch free.

We will ensure that all loose ends are tied for our students to come out best among others,” the Deputy Governor Okeke said, while receiving the Governing Council, COOU, Igbariam.

He described the present administration as education-friendly, noting that education had continued to be tops in the agenda.

For a nation to move forward, education is key as no nation can progress without quality education.

I am happy that Anambra State is doing well in primary and secondary education; we want to translate the successes to the university level.

We want to produce graduates that can effectively compete globally,” he vowed.

Dr Okeke pointed out that the problem facing the education sector was inadequate funding, saying that the state had enhanced its revenue base to accommodate challenges from all other sectors.

Pro-Chancellor, COOU, Mr Godwin Ikebueze said their visit was to intimate the state government of some challenges facing the university.

We have keyed into government programmes in education and we will redouble our efforts in actualising Government’s vision in education.
