Adamawa Police to enforce curfew on Lamurde

Following the announcement of the 24 curfew imposed on Lamurde Local Government Areas by the Adamawa State Government, the State Police Command has pledged to totally enforce the curfew to contain the further escalation of the communal clashes in the area.

A statement by the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olugbenga Adeyaju, appealed to the members of the public to respectfully comply with the directive, because the taskforce, which comprises the police and other sister-agencies, had been deployed to augment the strength of the area Commander and enforce the ban.

The State Police urged members of the public to adhere strictly to the order ad also warned officers and men deployed for the operation in the area to display high level of professionalism, operate within the context of the law and respect human rights.

Adeyaju said the curfew would be in force till further notice; hence all movements were prohibited during the period.

The command equally said those apprehended would be diligently investigated and prosecuted.
