Lagos: Mr. Adeniyi Adegbite, the newly inaugurated President of the Rotary Club of Gbagada South in Lagos State, has cited his dedication to humanitarian service and efforts in poverty alleviation as the primary reasons for his involvement with the Rotary Club.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adegbite expressed these sentiments during an interview, following his installation as the 23rd President of the Rotary Club of Gbagada South for the 2025/2026 Rotary year. The investiture ceremony, which took place on Saturday in Lagos, bore the theme ‘Unite for Good’ and marked the official transfer of leadership from Mr. Olushanu Afolabi to Adegbite.

Adegbite shared that his journey into the Rotary Club was shaped by a profound passion for service and a desire to foster meaningful societal change. He recounted his engagement in various charitable activities within his community prior to joining the club and recognized that collective efforts through Rotary could amplify the impact of his work.

In outlining his goals for the upcoming Rotary year, Adegbite announced plans to expand the club’s membership to 100 individuals. He also detailed several community projects under his administration, including a computer literacy initiative for public school pupils, the establishment of a computer centre with 10 new computers and a power generator, and the sponsorship of two pupils. Adegbite reaffirmed his commitment to the Rotary Club’s ideals, emphasizing that while no single individual can solve all societal issues, the club can collaboratively create lasting impacts and change lives. His administration will focus on education, health, youth empowerment, and poverty reduction, prioritizing teamwork, transparency, and innovation in service delivery.
