Amawbia youths share Government palliatives amid jubilation

Amawbia (Awka South LGA)-Youths of Amawbia community have received their own shares of 400 bags of 25kg rice from Anambra State Government as palliative.

The rice, shared among the youths according to an Amawbia sharing formula at the Town’s square was supervised by the executive of the town union.

Addressing them, President-General, Mr Ebele Nwufo said the gesture by government was to reduce hunger among the indigent and vulnerable youths as well as to alleviate the suffering of the masses.

Mr Nwufo praised Gov. Willie Obiano for being proactive in the fight against COVID-19, which he admitted was a welcome development.

He urged them to always abide strictly to the directives outlined by government in the fight against the pandemic, including maintaining social distancing and practicing personal hygiene.

PG informed them that the state government had commenced curfew from 8pm to 6am as another strategy to fight the virus.

Nwufo advised them to comply, so as not to face the wrath of the government when caught.

Amawbia Youth Leader, Mr Amobi Nwoye commended the Government for seeing to the welfare of their members.

“The virus has not been recorded in Amawbia, yet the governor deemed it fit to feed our youths to cushion the effects of hunger caused by the pandemic.

“Gov. Obiano is an action governor, a man of integrity, who keeps to his promise, the Moses of our time.’’

Mr Nwoye pleaded with his members to adhere strictly to all the directives outlined by government to fight the scourge, saying, “ignorance is not an excuse’’.
