The Enugu International Trade Fair kicked off with pump and pageantry with various bodies, corporate organizations, companies of repute and other States of the South east including Anambra, taking their stand in the 11 days event.

Anambra State once again lived up to its status of being the “Light of the Nation” as it joined the other exhibitors at the 28th Enugu International Trade fair to showcase made in Anambra goods and services.

The Enugu International Trade fair which took place from 30th March to 10th April 2017 played host to exhibitors from various business outfits and corporate bodies. Entrepreneurs and Sole Traders were not left out as they also had ample opportunity to showcase their merchandise and services.

At the fair, the Anambra State pavilion, which was directly opposite that of Enugu, had many of its locally made and standard products on display amongst which were plastic and rubber products, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics and allied chemicals, textiles and garments, handcrafts and vegetable oil e.t.c.

Visitors to the fair and users of Anambra products thronged the state pavilion to request the much advertised and standard products on display and they were not disappointed as they got into first hand interactions with producers and marketers.

Some of the companies and outfits from Anambra who had representation at the fair were noticed to have recorded impressive sales. They include the Technology Incubation Centre Nnewi – manufacturers of gas cylinders, camp beds, air freshners etc, Winco Foam Nig. Ltd – producers of comfortable matrasses and pillows, Hardis and Dromedas Nig. Ltd – producers of quality hygiene products and cosmetics, Tummy-Tummy Foods Industrial Limited, Innoson Nig. Ltd (producers of plastic chairs, water tanks, motorcycles, IVM Vehicles), Erisco Foods Nig. Ltd – producers of tinned tomatoes and sachet tomatoes etc.

Also present at the fair were officials from the Anambra State Ministry of Trade and Commerce, led by the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Stephanie Kelly-Uzor who was assisted by the Directors of Commerce and market, Mr. Cletus Obidiebube and Mr. Chuks Okeke. Other officials of the Ministry who were present at the fair joined the Permanent Secretary and the Directors in coordinating affairs at the Anambra Pavilion to ensure that enquirers in the areas of trade, commerce, markets, investments and wealth creation as concerning Anambra State were adequately guided.

Indeed, Anambra State’s activities contributed immensely and added colour to the event.

The fair came to a blissful end, adjudged a giant leap forward and a huge success in its provision of opportunities to various trade groups and professionals who came up with new products and ideas. Also, visitors had the privilege of visiting places of interest within the State. The Fair succeeded to bring into focus the full potentials and business opportunities existing in Nigeria.
