Anambra University, College of Education to commence Chinese Lang.

By John Ndu : Anambra State government has directed the State’s owned University and College of Education to commence Confucius Learning in their institutions.

The State institutions are, Anambra State University, Igbariam and College of Education Nzugbe.

The state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano gave the directive during a Holy Mass to mark the Last Supper (Mundy Thursday) of Jesus Christ, at St Patricks Catholic Cathedral, Awka.

Governor Obiano while giving the directive said the state government would sponsor the first batch of students to gain admission in the institutions for the Chinese Language.

Chief Obiano said it would help the youth to meaningfully engage in any transaction with the Chinese company, especially now the state government had finalized partnership with them for the construction of various industries, including the Cargo International Airport City.

The governor observed that aside enhancing the symbiotic relationship with the Chinese company, it would equally expose them to different opportunities in the future.

He pointed out that youths would be gainfully employed at the completion of the Cargo International Airport City, alongside training and retraining that would expose them to various skills.

In his reaction, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor charged Christians to remain steadfast in the present economic recession, and embrace peace for the unity of the society.

Bishop Ezeokafor commended Governor Obiano for his commitment in reshaping the state positively for the betterment of future generations.

The highlight was washing of Governor Obiano’s feet, and others, as a symbol of what Jesus Christ did to his disciples.
