APC ready to return South-East to mainstream politics – Oyegun

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Oyegun, says a major focus of the party is to return the South-East to mainstream of national politics.

Mr. Oyegun spoke at the APC awareness rally and formal reception of former Gov. Sullivan Chime in Abodu ward, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday.

Receiving him into the fold of the ruling party at the home town of the former Enugu state governor, the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun decried the neglect, deprivation and deceit that the Ndigbo has suffered over the years due to their political affiliations.

Oyegun however, acknowledged that the south east region of Nigeria, were like the rejected stone that formed the corner stone.

Meanwhile Oyegun expressed believe that the time has come for Ndigbo to be integrated properly into the affairs of Nigeria as they will soon reap the fruit of their labour.

Oyegun said that Chime joined the APC not because he is being hunted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC but because he is a good man with a large heart who has built a strong political machinery worthy of emulation.

He also added that with Chimes’ defection to the APC, Ndigbo would return to the main stream of Nigeria politics.

Chime then called on Ndigbo to embrace the All Progressive Congress as its the only way to self realization in Nigeria.
