Abuja: The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) has expressed its appreciation for the release of two new books that aim to enhance understanding and practical skills in the field of crop protection.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Adamu Dabban, the Executive Secretary of ARCN, praised the publications authored by Dr. Saidu Paiko during a statement on Friday. The books specifically address significant challenges in crop production, focusing on crop diseases and pests, which are critical issues for the agricultural sector.
The two books, titled ‘Applied Plant Pathology and Crop Disease Management in Nigeria: A Practical Manual for Students in Agriculture’ and ‘Major Crop Pests of Nigeria: Identification, Biology and Integrated Management’, are designed to provide essential information on identifying and managing crop diseases and pests effectively. This knowledge is crucial for improving agricultural yields, safeguarding farmers’ investments, and enhancing food security in Nigeria.
Dr. Dabban encouraged students, researchers, extension officers, farmers, and other agricultural practitioners to utilize these books as valuable resources for learning, conducting research, and refining farming practices. He acknowledged the author’s efforts in contributing practical knowledge to the agricultural research and education sector in Nigeria.
