Bishop Ibezim stresses need for Holy Ghost baptism

Ukpo (Dunukofia LGA)-Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Chibuzor Ibezim says there is need for Holy Ghost baptism for perfect direction in all our endeavours.

“Without the Holy Ghost, the power for evangelism will not come. Every Christian needs the Holy Ghost power for direction and perfection because it leads us to all truth.’’

Ibezim said this at Church of the Pentecost, while admitting women into Mother’s Union (MU), young girls into Girls’ Guild (GG) as well as children for confirmation.

He emphasised the need for someone to be baptized with the Holy Ghost because that would enable the person to explore God’s kingdom.

Ibezim urged the congregation to pray for the gift of the Holy Ghost for empowerment, noting that it would enable them to stand and confront all challenges without fear of death.

The bishop enjoined the newly admitted and confirmed candidates to always desire for power as true ambassadors of Christ for them to do great in his kingdom.

“Any minister of God without the Holy Ghost is not a true minister but a minister operating in the Holy Ghost has access to God’s presence,’’ he noted.

Ibezim, then, urged the congregation to always desire for the Holy Ghost so that they would be able to manifest and bear its fruits.

He noted that most people make jest of the Holy Ghost baptism and deny its power, but “the baptism is emphatically a reality’’.

Ibezim lamented bitterly the heresies being preached by the so called ministers in our societies today, cautioning all to be watchful and be at alert.

He condemned the way people put their trust in man, warning the congregation to desist from such acts.

“Put your trust in God and he will see you through because God will surely not forsake His children,” Bishop Ibezim stressed.
