Lagos:President Bola Tinubu has announced that he is healthy and prepared to resume his duties after a working vacation in Europe.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Tinubu, addressing journalists at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, dismissed health-related rumors as politically motivated. He affirmed his readiness to work, saying, “I am here, healthy, sound and ready to go.”
Tinubu described his vacation as enjoyable and expressed enthusiasm about returning to work.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who was present to welcome the President, expressed confidence that Tinubu’s period of rest would lead to increased activity. Abbas remarked, “It is incredibly nice to have him after one month away, and we believe that the days he has spent resting will translate into more action this time around.”
Among those present at the airport to greet the President were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for a working vacation, first stopping in London before proceeding to Paris. In France, one of his engagements included a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The President is set to stay in Lagos to partake in activities for Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1, which includes a nationwide broadcast and events honoring the late Chief MKO Abiola, before returning to Abuja.
