By John Ndu : Governor Willie Obiano has called on Christians to respect the church which is a sacred place of worship and abide by the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Governor Obiano gave the advice when some delegation from Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria came to commiserate with him over the death of his mother, Late Mrs Christaina Obiano, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
Receiving the delegation, Governor Obiano stressed that church had been an abode of divinity, where Christians should run to for succour, especially in time of difficulties.
The Governor while narrating some of the virtues of his mother, noted that she lived a life full of emulation, and raised them in the way of God.
He expressed gratitude to the group for identifying with him in time of his grief, soliciting their prayers for God to give him fortitude to bear the loss.
The leader of the delegation and State Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), His Grace, Archbishop David Ebelechukwu urged the Governor to be courageous, as they would not relent in praying for him, for God to give him the grace and wisdom to continue piloting the affairs of the state to a greater height.
Archbishop Ebelechukwu described late Mrs Obiano as a woman of honour, who in time of difficulties, gave her children the best education, irrespective of financial challenges.
