Cleric challenges Army on unity of Nigeria

Nigerians especially officers and men of the Nigerian Army have again been challenged to be ready to sacrifice for the unity, oneness and progress of the Nation.

A Cleric, Major Reverend Yakub David ?gave the charge on Sunday in his sermon delivered at the Saint Michael Catholic Church, Sobi Cantonment, Ilorin as part of activities marking the one hundred and fifty four years Nigerian Army Day Celebration.

Major David who spoke on the topic ‘service for your Nation sacrifice accepted by God’ called on members of the Nigerian Army to work diligently in ensuring the oneness of the Country.

The Cleric implored Nigerians to look at their achievements and failures with the hope of making corrections where necessary.

He urged members of the forces to obey constituted authority and defend the Nation at all times.

Major David advised the people to be contented, do well to all and touch others positively ?to ensure an egalitarian society.

In his speech, the Commander two-two Brigade, Sobi, Colonel Ola Falade noted that the unity of the country was not negotiable.

Colonel Falade explained that the Nigerian Army would continue to ensure a peaceful and harmonious relationship with their neighbours and citizens.

He stated that the ?Brigade would carry out community service outreaches especially free medical health care within its neighboring communities.

Special prayers were offered for the Nigerian Army? and the nation at large.

The church service was attended by members of the Kwara State Security Service, Service Chiefs in the State, members of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air-force, Department of State Security Service and NDLEA.
