COVID-19: Galaxy Backbone reiterates commitment to effective ICT service

Galaxy Backbone Limited, GBB, has assured Nigerians of effective service delivery in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement by the Managing Director of GBB, Professor Muhammad Abubakar, Galaxy Backbone said it has put in place measures to ensure minimal service disruptions during this period.

Prof Abubakar pointed out that in this regard, “We have set up the GBB Covid-19 Action Team to activate and implement our Business Continuity Plans to ensure that our operations continue to run seamlessly round the clock; 7 days a week, even while our employees adhere strictly with safety guidelines as issued by the Federal Ministry Health and its parastatals.”
He noted that even as the world continues to look for innovative ways to prevent and manage the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Agency will work seamlessly to carry out its mandate.

Prof  Abubakar  also explained that; “in our role as the Digital Infrastructure and Technology Services Provider to the Federal Government, under the able leadership of the Minister Of Communications and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, we will be making all effort to ensure that communications technologies (Voice and Video Conferencing, Email and other Online services) already deployed at government institutions are fully operational to aid public officers as they carry out their
official duties.”

The MD added that “We remain committed to providing services during these trying times. Remember, let’s help each other as much as possible and together we will beat this and come out stronger.”

Galaxy Backbone is the Information Technology and Shared Services Provider of the Federal Government of Nigeria, with a mandate to enable the Digital Economy initiatives of government under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.
