Abuja:Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) is sponsoring the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair, where it will highlight the ongoing Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals (DPRP) during its Special Day.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Dangote Special Day, set for Friday, will feature a high-level fireside and business interactive session. This event will include representatives from the Dangote Group, government, the organized private sector, and business leaders to discuss the transformative impact of the Dangote Refinery on Nigeria’s economic development.
The interactive session aims to provide prospective investors, entrepreneurs, business operators, and other participants an opportunity to engage directly with Dangote Group representatives. They will gain insights into the refinery’s ongoing IPO and its broader economic significance. The session is themed ‘Dangote Refinery, Vision 2030, ACCI and the Economy’ and will focus on the refinery’s contributions to Nigeria’s energy security, industrialization, trade, employment generation, taxation, and economic growth.
A significant discussion point will be how increased domestic refining capacity can reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products, conserve foreign exchange, and strengthen local value chains. This can create new business opportunities across the petroleum, petrochemical, logistics, manufacturing, and services sectors. The IPO will be a prominent topic, with participants exploring how broadening the ownership of this major industrial asset could deepen Nigeria’s capital market and provide investment opportunities.
The session will bring together senior representatives from the Dangote Group, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), government, and the private sector. It will also examine the implications of Dangote Group’s Vision 2030 for industrialization, job creation, local content development, technology transfer, investment, and economic diversification.
Visitors to the Trade Fair can also visit the Dangote Group pavilion to see a showcase of products and businesses across various sectors, such as cement, sugar, salt, and seasoning.
