Do not be anxious for anything but rather trust in God says spouse of Bishop Ibezim

Ukpo (Dunukofia LGA)-Wife of the Archbishop on the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Anglican Communion, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim has appealed to women of Ukpo Archdeaconry not to show anxiety for anything but merely trust in God.

Mrs Ibezim said this during the Archdeaconry Conference held on June 5, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Parish, Ukpo.

In an address, she said: “God is all knowing, forever present and all powerful God, who sees the end from the beginning’’.

She emphasised that God held the ultimate power to order the affairs of the world and the heavens.

Mrs Ibezim noted that many people had lost their lives to things that were not worth dying for, out of anxiety, urging all to trust in the ultimate power of God.

“Problems can come acting and dramatising, when God has not spoken but at the voice of God, every raging storm ceases.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever present to help in time of troubles and need. We are not ignorant of the wars around us and within us.

“They are real and they come in multiple phases and dimensions.’’

She encouraged the women to stop worrying, even in the face of Coronavirus realities, dread and hunger, domestic pressures and economic stress for God would surely roll away such storms.

Mrs Ibezim, then, enjoined the women to always adhere to all precautionary measures for prevention of Coronavirus pandemic.

“Let us remember our regular hand washing with soap, under running water; always wear face masks and observe social distancing.

Mrs Ibezim urged the women to be praying for Gods intervention for total eradication of this virus.

“Do not to lose faith in God but be courageous like the faithful women of the Bible — the likes of Mary Magdalene.

The wife of the Bishop maintained: “the Church of God is marching forward and the gates of hell shall not prevail over the Church’’.

She hailed the women of Ukpo Archdeaconry for their support to the Diocesan projects, urging them to support the women ministry and pray for that the Archdeaconry to grow from strength to strength.
