Edo Youths Encouraged to Utilize State’s Interest-Free Loan for Business Growth


Benin: The Speaker of the Edo Youth Parliament, Mr. Fawaz Muhammad, has called on young people in the state to take advantage of a N1 billion interest-free loan initiative designed to support and fund their businesses. Muhammad emphasized the importance of this opportunity while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower the youth, thereby enhancing their livelihoods and contributing to the economic development of Edo State. Mr. Muhammad highlighted the skills, resourcefulness, and talent of the state’s youth, pointing out that many require initial capital to either start or expand their business ventures.



Mr. Muhammad further explained that the interest-free loan program aims to significantly reduce youth restiveness and crime by providing meaningful engagement opportunities. He praised Governor Sen. Monday Okpebholo for prioritizing youth empowerment through his administration’s policies.



The Speaker described the loan initiative as a ‘bold and commendable investment in the capacity, creativity, and future of Edo youths.’ He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and become exemplars of the values and vision upheld by the state.
