The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Oyo State Command, has rejoiced with Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In a statement, the State Commandant, Patriot Lukman Yekini Adelowo, charged Muslims to keep their spirits up, saying despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the Almighty Allah allowed Muslims in Oyo State to join the Muslim Ummah in making supplications for the forgiveness of sins.
Adelowo urged all Muslims to stay safe and stay at home to celebrate this year’s Eid- el-Fitr, pointing out that this would help to protect friends and family from contracting the Coronavirus.
While calling on Nigerians to use the period of celebration to pray for an end to Coronavirus in the world, the Commandant urged adherents of Islam to continue to uphold the teachings of Ramadan among which are piety, cultivating good manners, abstaining from vices, showing love, giving in charity, reading the Quran and a host of others.
Adelowo called on all and sundry to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures, noting that the pandemic is still very much around, therefore people should stay safe and pray for an end of the pandemic.
