The Federal Roads Safety Corp, FRSC Sokoto state command says it will deploy all its personnel including regular and special marshals to ensure hitch free Eid-el- Kabir celebration in the State.
The State Sector Commander of the Corp, Mr Muhammad Kaigama Kabo, disclosed this to Voice of Nigeria in Sokoto State North West Nigeria.
Mr Kabo said the command will deploy its personnel and logistics including patrol vehicles and ambulances on all the major strategic routes across the State.
The command will place its personnel in different places particularly along Shagari-Jega and Sokoto- Talata Mafara roads to ease movement of vehicles and people and ensure safety of lives and property before, during and after the festive period, the Sector Commander said.
He added that the Command in collaboration with other sister agencies would tackle overloading, driving under influence of alcohol, drugs and other intoxicants as well as reckless driving during the Sallah period and beyond.
The command had already concluded a plan to synergise with stakeholders in the state particularly the sister security agencies which includes, Police, Civil Defence, Immigration, VIO, Vigilante group among other to commence the operation on Friday 9th August as directed by the Headquarters he added.
The Sector Commander said the Sallah period would be used to further sensitise members of the public on the upcoming massive enforcement of the laws on number plates and riders licences for motorcycle and tricycle operators, commencing on 2nd October 2019.
The Sector Commander enjoined all road users to obey traffic rules and regulations to ensure safety.
Mr Kabo wished all Muslims, motorists and other road users safe trips and Eid Mubarak in advance.
