Post: Eletu CDA Residents Celebrate N390m Electricity, Road Projects in Lagos

Lagos: Residents of Eletu Royal Estate, Community Development Authority (CDA), Isheri Oshu, Lagos, celebrated the completion of a N90 million electricity project and the inauguration of a N300 million road project. The event attracted community leaders, government representatives, and residents.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Chairman of the CDA, Mr. Marshal Ilelaboye, highlighted the significance of these developmental initiatives in the Isheri Oshu area. The electricity project, valued at over N90 million, was funded through the collective efforts and contributions of residents. Ilelaboye emphasized the transition from Band B to Band A and from Ijegun FIDA to Bucnor FIDA, marking a success for the community.

Ilelaboye acknowledged the challenges faced by the community due to its proximity to the canal but stressed the commitment to improving living conditions and investments. He noted the initial skepticism faced by the community but credited collaboration and determination for the successful completion of the projects. The road project will cover four major roads classified as Trunk A roads within the community, and Ilelaboye appealed to the Lagos State Government for further support.

Mrs. Mojisola Badmus, representing the Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), commended the CDA’s achievements as a result of collaboration among stakeholders. She assured continued council support for community developmental projects.

Mr. Olayiwola Abdurazak, the pioneer Chairman of Eletu CDA, recalled the infrastructure challenges faced during his tenure and praised the current leadership for ongoing developments. He commended Ilelaboye for his dedication and openness to advice.

Chief Kazeem Kalejaiyi, Chairman of the Central CDA of Isheri-Ijon, Ajaye, and White Sand communities, described the projects as landmark achievements and lauded the efforts of the CDA chairman. Mr. Lucky Ireaja, Secretary of the CDA, noted the community’s previous initiatives to improve power supply and their partnership with Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company for effective management of electricity infrastructure.

Mr. Jonathan Itiveh, Deputy Chief Security Officer of the CDA, attributed the project’s success to resident goodwill and dynamic CDA leadership. Resident Mr. Patrick Nkencho emphasized the importance of electricity and road networks for community development and expressed optimism for the community’s growth.

The event also featured free medical care for residents, sponsored by Mr. Marshal Ilelaboye, focusing on checking blood pressure and sugar levels, further contributing to the community’s welfare.
