The Nigerian equities market of the Stock Exchange has again appreciated after the close of Wednesday’s transactions.
The All Share Index slightly gained 0.02 percent to close at 27,878.43 basis points, moving up 6.53 basis points from 27,871.90 basis points. Whereas the Market Capitalisation gained 2 billion Naira to close at N14,518 trillion from N14,516 trillion.
The numbers of stocks that appreciated on Wednesday was lower with only 9 stocks appreciated in comparison to 13 stocks that gained on Tuesday. However, 17 stocks declined on Tuesday and also on Wednesday.
On the top of the gainers table is AFRICA PRUDENTIAL PLC which appreciated from a previous closing price of N4.60k per share to a new selling price of N4.70k per share, gaining 0.10k or 2.17 percent.
Then UACN PLC with a previous selling price of N9.30k per share, closed at N9.50k per share, gaining 0.20k or 2.15 percent.
ACCESS BANK PLC which closed at a selling price of N9.60k per share, closed at N9.80k per share on Wednesday to gain 0.20k or 2.08 percent.
VITAFOAM NIG PLC. led the decliners, moving from N5.03k per share to N4.53k per share, shedding 0.50k or 9.94 percent.
While SKYWAY AVIATION HANDLING COMPANY PLC followed with a fall from N3.37k per share to N3.05k per share losing 0.32k or 9.50 percent.
ROYAL EXCHANGE PLC. fell from 0.25k per share to 0.23k per share, losing 0.02k or 8.00 percent.
Wednesday’s trades also declined as 152,401 million units of shares valued at N2,435 billion were traded in 3,519.00 deals.
As against Tuesday’s 276.268 million units of shares worth N3,707 billion in 3,690.00 deals.
On sector performance, banking and industrial indices advanced by 0.30% and 0.08%, respectively, while the consumer goods declined by 0.31% and Insurance declined by 0.23%. The Oil and Gas index closed flat.
