Abuja:The Federal Fire Service FCT Command has issued a warning to residents to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters as rainfall continues to increase in intensity.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Barnabas Anyam, the Public Relations Officer of the FFS FCT Command, highlighted the significant risks to life associated with crossing floodwaters. He emphasized that even shallow water on roads could endanger lives and property.

Anyam also cautioned against leaving electrical appliances on during rainfalls and recommended that all sockets be switched off. He stressed the need to prioritize the evacuation of children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities during household floods, and warned against using potentially contaminated floodwater.
