Abuja: The Federal Government has approved a landmark promotion exercise for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), resulting in the elevation of 51 Corps Commanders (CC) and 49 Deputy Corps Commanders (DCC). This significant development underscores the administration’s focus on bolstering leadership and human capital within the FRSC.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Olusegun Ogungbemide, highlighted the importance of these promotions for the FRSC’s leadership structure. He shared that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, described the promotions as a critical step in enhancing the Corps’ dedication to excellence and strategic leadership.
Senator Akume praised the transparency and merit-based nature of the promotion exercise, lauding the Corps leadership for its objectivity. He called on the newly promoted officers to focus on the FRSC’s mission to curb road traffic accidents and foster a safer driving environment nationwide. Akume reiterated the administration’s stance on rewarding diligence and hard work.
In his address, FRSC Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed congratulated the officers on their promotions, attributing their advancement to their dedication and performance. He emphasized the increased responsibilities accompanying their new ranks and urged them to maintain high standards of discipline and integrity.
Malam Mohammed also encouraged officers who were not promoted this time, assuring them that their efforts would be recognized in future exercises. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving staff welfare and called on all FRSC personnel to actively engage in achieving the Corps’ strategic goals and safety objectives.
