Post: Foremost Capital Secures BBB+ Rating as Assets Surge by 250%


Abuja: Foremost Capital Limited, an asset management firm, has secured the BBB+ rating from DataPro, a leading credit rating agency, its Managing Director/CEO, Emmanuel Akehomen, said this on Monday.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Akehomen highlighted that the BBB+ credit rating is a medium, investment-grade score given by major rating agencies. He noted that this rating indicates a company or government has an adequate ability to pay its debts, although adverse economic changes could pose risks to this security.



Akehomen explained that the rating was awarded in recognition of the company’s financial and operational standards. He emphasized that the management remains committed to maintaining world-class standards at all levels of its business operations. The company’s assets have reportedly grown by 250% from July to December 2025.



The managing director stated that DataPro’s BBB+ rating provides an independent assessment of Foremost Capital’s financial strength and operating capacity. This strong liquidity position supports its ability to meet financial obligations and manage client investment activities. Akehomen added that the rating reflects the company’s growing presence and capacity within the investment management industry and signals a positive outlook for the company’s future development.



He elaborated on the significance of the rating, which underscores the importance of strong governance, risk management, internal control, and compliance structures in supporting sustainable growth. The SEC-licensed asset management entity’s rating reinforces its position as a fully compliant participant in Nigeria’s capital market.



Akehomen further stated that the BBB+ rating from DataPro is a significant milestone for the company, validating its robust governance, liquidity, and operational resilience. He mentioned that the rating serves as an independent assurance of the company’s stability and capacity for sustainable growth.
