Abuja: The family of Rev. William Okoye, Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission, has fixed his burial for October 9 in Agulu, Anambra. Rev. Okoye, who served as Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, passed away on July 15 at the National Hospital in Abuja at the age of 74, following a brief illness.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, a statement released on Friday in Abuja outlined the activities planned for Rev. Okoye’s burial. The programme will commence with a Service of Songs at the Cathedral of Compassion, All Christians Fellowship Mission in Maitama, Abuja, scheduled for September 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Night of Tributes and Honour is set to take place at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on October 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The statement further detailed that the body will be transported to Anambra for a wake-keep at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Field, Agulu, on October 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service is planned to be held at the same venue on October 9 starting at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Rev. William Okoye’s compound in Amatutu Village, Agulu.
An outing service is scheduled to conclude the burial proceedings at Agulu Town Hall on October 11 at 9 a.m. Rev. Okoye is survived by six children and nine grandchildren, including Mr. Victor Okoye, a journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria.
