Abuja: A socio-political movement, Nigeria Forward (NF), has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing his administration’s reforms in infrastructure, connectivity, production, and job creation. The call was made by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Udeh (SAN), during the official unveiling of Nigeria Forward (NF) in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Udeh, who is also a co-convener of the group, emphasized that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on creating favorable conditions for Nigeria to prosper and secure livelihoods. He highlighted the need for the nation’s development efforts, particularly in the North, to go beyond political rhetoric and focus on tangible impacts in local communities.
Udeh stated that the agenda aims to transition the nation from reform to production, job creation, and social stability through investments in infrastructure, digital connectivity, and agriculture. He urged citizens to question the development projects being undertaken, including their locations, benefits, and the opportunities they create.
The minister called on leaders and members of the movement to engage citizens constructively and responsibly campaign by showcasing the administration’s achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stressed the importance of converting Nigeria’s human capital into productive capacity by supporting the president in consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Udeh described Nigeria Forward as a socio-political bridge connecting government policies to citizens, driving bottom-up development, and mobilizing support for the Tinubu administration. He emphasized that policies achieve their greatest impact when citizens actively understand and take ownership of them.
The co-convener of the movement and Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Waiya, urged citizens to give Tinubu a fair chance to consolidate political stability and administrative reforms. He highlighted the gradual unification of the country and called for the support of Tinubu’s second term, citing the unwritten power-rotation arrangement between the North and South.
Waiya also commended the administration’s achievements, including local government autonomy and the timely disbursement of federal funds to sub-national governments. He praised the policy framework towards establishing state police as a measure to address the country’s security challenges.
Earlier, Malam Munir Haidara, the Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, described Nigeria Forward as a movement dedicated to fostering peace, national unity, and inclusive economic growth. He acknowledged the leadership of the project for driving the initiative and reaffirmed a shared commitment to national progress and responsible citizenship.
