A former Governor of Abia State, in South East Nigeria, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts in combating the menace of insecurity in the Country.

Senator Urzo Kalu, a Chief Whip in the present Upper Chamber of Nigeria, said insecurity is the greatest challenge faced by the countries around the world in recent times, not only Nigeria.

He further stated that the challenges of insecurity bedeviling parts of the country, has defiled every solution and described the unending insecurity challenges as ”a sabotage against the government of President Muhammad Buhari.”

“There is a lot of sabotage concerning security issue, Mr. President is on top of the situation and I am also sure he will address it accordingly,” Dr Urzo Kalu who is representing Abia North Senatorial District in the South-east region of Nigeria, said.

He commented of a lingering Presidential zoning among politicians in Nigeria, saying ”all Political parties have the rights to pick their candidates for Presidential election from any part of the country….The issue of zoning is purely a party affair, and not a national constitutional issue.”

Dr Urzo Kalu was in Minna, Niger State on Monday, for a private visit to the two former Military Presidents of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Babangida, and General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
